 We work closely with designers and engineers from the earliest concept stages of vehicle and component projects, through to prototyping and final production. Our liaison engineers and project managers are often seconded to customers to provide support where it is needed most or aid the introduction of new processes or products. Our engineering support and consultative services can advise on material optimization, component design and formability, and they are experts in helping solve customers' tooling challenges. In addition they can also undertake parts prototyping and studies into manufacturing feasibility and cost estimation and draw from the mill's technical resources and R&D support. Additionally, Corus Automotive has an on-site Quality Control Laboratory, which carries out material hardness and ductility testing as well as other sophisticated testing processes associated with tailor welded blanks. Corus Automotive have their own CAD design facilities which enable them to provide an onsite material optimisation service. This work has resulted in many successful design and engineering solutions, providing significant cost-downs, from initial design concept through to continuous improvement, during the model life. | |
