Corus invest in new Metal Centre at Shotton

Corus has invested more than £1/2-million in a new Metal Centre that is specially designed to cater for small and medium sized building, engineering, fabrication and manufacturing companies operating in an area covering Shotton, Merseyside, North Wales and Stoke. Six new jobs have been created at the Centre which opens at Corus’ Shotton works site this week.

The Centre will give customers fast, flexible access to a wide range of steel products by imposing no minimum order quantity and offering delivery within 24-hours.  A full range of general steels - including beams, hollow sections, weld mesh and open steel flooring - will be delivered by two new rigid vehicles.  Crane facilities have also been installed for safe loading and unloading.

Customers will also be able to tap into the expertise and knowledge of a three strong sales team which collectively has more than 35 years experience.

“The new Centre enables smaller customers to get what they want, when they want it.” said business manager Lee Winsper. “We can handle everything from a request for a single sheet of steel to a medium sized order of several tonnes, and because we have access to the stocks held by Corus nationwide, we can source material at very short notice.

“Designed to meet the specific requirements of small and medium sized customers, the new Centre will enable these organisations to get the type of fast, flexible service they’d expect from a small local supplier while enjoying the benefits of dealing with a major multi-national company with a comprehensive product range, stock availability and competitive prices.”

The new Corus Metal Centre is open from Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 5.00pm and can be contacted on 01244 830216.  It accepts a wide range of payment methods including credit card and cash.
